Project Description
SWEET, recursive acronym for "SWEET: Wake up Easily Every Time" is a wake-up mp3/ogg advanced functionality. Save individual profiles clock, sleeping with the sound of your favorite song or decreasing slowly show your list of things to do on substantive alarm are some opportunities that should offer SWEET. Encoded in Python and under free license, SWEET be easily and freely distributable, or modified.

SWEET was born primarily by the desire to work as a group. The aim is to share the knowlage with a team and enjoing program with Python, to share the experiences and learn. Initially, SWEET was a pretext for this purpose, but it has finally acquired a personality which makes an objective in its own right.

Anyway everyone is welcome, they just must be motivated and have the spirit of sharing.

Characteristics

In a first basic idea (a simple alarm clock reading mp3), SWEET has been transformed into a truly original project. This choice was primarily that of a project that is both accessible and interesting, but with enthusiasm and proposals of the unique features have been added. There are already clocks mp3 (plugin winAmp or a scheduled task is the case), but none will be as practical as SWEET!

SWEET will actually read at a given time a music file into MP3 or ogg, either directly or as a list of reading, but with a system profile. Demonstration. It can therefore register and choose as many adjustments as you want, for example change from profile:

When will be available SWEET?
No release date can be given: each advance at their own pace and progress is very irregular.

On what basis will the project SWEET?
Language: SWEET is done in Python because this language created by Guido van Rossum combines simplicity, power and modularity. In addition, it is the language we know and the most affectionnons therefore it is logical that it is the one we use.

Graphical user interface: the coding is done currently with wxPython, library possibilities varied and portable, while an XML file configuration skin is being developed.

Configuration Files: A local database in XML format exportable to keep a strong interoperability, the possibility of change, and all the benefits of a free and open format ...

Audio Module: The Python module PyMedia.

Project Management: the forum, wiki and SVN server.

What license is placed SWEET?
The type of license is not officially decided, but it will be free, type MPL. This means that anyone can copy, modify and reuse SWEET, a condition to maintain those freedoms has applied his own work using SWEET. The source code will be available beginning on the first stable published.

Which configuration is necessary to run SWEET?
It is not here yet! The project had its genesis is ... However python is a multi-platform language, and our goal is to provide for a maximum SWEET user preference at least under Windows, Mac and Linux. Once assured that it works, why not BSD systems or other exotic? SWEET assertions expected to be light to turn, large configurations are not obligatory, it is never a clock :-)

What will be the project once completed?
Good question! Nothing is decided. But first, here we code for fun, and if the project become mature, this will be well.

If this is a free project, which is the source code?
The source code is available on the server SVN. Attention, no stable versions are available yet.

Yeeear, it is a project that will be dead in two weeks...
In fact, the project is now past 2 years. He has drawn, again at zero repeatedly. We do have many mistakes beginner, normal, has a SWEET pedagogic. The development team has been refined and now we are left with a good foundation.
